Let’s fix up our file browsers (File Explorer in Windows, Finder on OS X) to show a little extra information.

Show file extensions

Sometimes your computer will hide extensions from you - is it a CSV file or an Excel file? Is it a text file or something else? By making your file browser always show you extensions, you’re able to get a general idea of what is inside of a file;

Show hidden files in finder (OS X)

To show hidden files in OS X, open Finder and press Command + Shift + .. You can press it again to hide them.
